Villa Viktoria

The Villa Viktoria is located in front of Viktoria Park in Berlin Kreuzberg. The red clinker construction with its beautiful Gothic window front, built in 1892, was originally an engine house for the waterfall in the Viktoria Park. One can still find the pumps in the cellar.

The waterfall and the monument in remembrance of the battles of the Napoleonic War of Liberation are the attraction of the park. Various similar landscape structures in the Riesengebirge (Giant Mountains), which were once popular excursions for wealthy Berliners, are thought to have served as model for the Kreuzberg waterfall. The waterfall requires 13,000 litres of water per minute to be pumped up from a depth of 24 m. It was not until 1893 that the facility was ceremoniously put into operation. Since then, the park with its mountainous character has become one of Berlin’s popular features.

In the 135 sqm old engine house there is room for 120 guests depending on the seating. It’s a charming venue for small and middle-sized events such as a private party, a corporate event or a wedding. In agreement with the registry office Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg, it is possible to hold a marriage ceremony here as well.
