Passionskirche
Marheinekeplatz 1 - 10961 Berlin

The Passionskirche is not only a place for services, but also a famous venue for world music and jazz concerts for more than 25 years, well-known beyond the bounds of Berlin. The interior presents itself - covered by an enormous dome - in a change from brick exposed masonry with Romanesque-Byzantine style elements. In order to optimize the building for music and cultural events, the altar area was converted into a stage and the acoustics were substantially improved by special plaster. In 2010 the Passionskirche was brought up to the latest development in fire protection.

The church is suitable for concerts as well as for readings, lectures, movie sceening and slideshows. The church room also offers a remarkable setting for presentations. 600 seats and 70 standing rooms or 530 seats and 190 standing rooms are available for your event. In cold winter days a floor heating warms the church. In the backstage area you will also find a shower. Akanthus Kulturmanagement serves cold alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages during the concerts or other events.

Due to the excellent acoustic and light engineering professional musical recordings are possible in the church. In addition the church is suitable for film recordings. Of course, the room can be darkened during a movie screening and a slide show. The Passionskirche owns a 48-channel and an 8-channel mixing board as well as modern communication and presentation technology. It should also be highlighted that an excellent Steinway grand piano is part of the equipment of the church.
